Mysore Ananthaswamy

Mysore Ananthaswamy was a prominent classical Indian vocalist, music composer; a singer of Kannada Sugama Sangeetha. He composed many poems and bhavageethe of well-known Kannada poets like Kuvempu, K S Nissar Ahmed, N S Lakshminarayana Bhatta, etc, and popularised them throughout the world. Some of his most famous songs include "Jogada siri belakinalli" from the album ''Nityotsava'' and "Yede tumbi hadidenu andu naanu" from the album 'Mysuru Mallige'. He succumbed to throat cancer, leaving behind his son Raju Ananthaswamy, daughter Savitha Ananthswamy, and wife Shantha Ananthswamy. Raju Ananthswamy, after his father's demise carried forward Ananthaswamy's legacy by popularizing his "Mysuru Mallige" series of songs.
